My office system

This is a cool little system I put together at my office. It is a small C.H.O.P. (Constant height one pump) system. There is a little 160 gallon per hour pump in the sump tank. That pumps water into the 10 gallon fish aquarium. The aquarium overflows into the grow bed and the grow bed has a loop siphon on the back that drains back into the sump. The system has been running for about 7 months.

These are the fish that power the system; Oscar fish (Lisa), African Cichlid (Dwight), upsidedown catfish (Sam) and a Plecostomus (Consuela). Consuela isnt in the picture.

I had to make a slight modification to the aquarium.

I use a 135 watt LED light for this system. It runs from 6PM - 6AM while I am not here because the light is extremely bright and obnoxious and I dont really like sitting in an office that is glowing purple ;) I put a cover over the fish tank every night when I leave so they still get darkness at night.

I have one sweet pepper plant in this system right now. I planted it about 2 moths after starting the system. It has its second set of fruits on it right now. I have been getting some pretty bad leaf curl since this second set of fruits have set. Im thinking its a potassium deficiency. I started adding some KOH into my fill water and bringing the pH back down with some HCL. It appears to be getting some new leafs that are looking much better.
