In todays post Im going to be doing an update on how my lettuce varieties have been doing in my Office Aquaponic system. The six plants on the right are Bibb Lettuce. They were planted around the beginning of December. In the front left there is Red Leaf Romaine lettuce. In the back, left side I have multi-colored Swiss Chard. The Romaine and the Chard were planted on the 16th of December.
I have been keeping my pH between 6.6 and 6.8 and my water temperature has been at 74 degrees Fahrenheit. The plants have been growing wonderfully with the exception of the few along the outside of the grow-bed that dont get enough direct light from the grow light. To take care of this problem I think I am going to get one more grow light and hang both of them perpendicular to the grow-bed so I get good coverage across all sections.
I think today might be a good day to make a giant salad for everyone here at the office :)
